DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Morton Elementary School serves approximately 280 students in Grades K-1. Morton Elementary has 8 sections of each grade and a Life Skills program for those students who qualify. A balanced curriculum is delivered to ALL students. Direct Explicit Instruction is delivered by high quality, well-trained teachers. All students receive Reading Intervention at their instructional level, Math Intervention is offered to students demonstrating need in the area of Mathematics and Language Intervention for support to our ELL students. A variety of programs and support services are available which include: speech therapy, special education, and counseling. Parents may have their child participate in our after-school program, Lexington Academy. Teachers and staff work collectively to provide an educational opportunity that reflects the diverse needs of every student and supports the District's mission statement.
