South Platte Public Schools is a school district located in western Nebraska that was consolidated in 1995. It consists of the communities of Brule and Big Springs, Nebraska. K-12 classes are conducted at the Big Springs site. South Platte Public Schools receives little state aid. The majority of the school's funding is provided from property tax which is capped by a state legislatively mandated lid. This district is a rural community with agriculture and tourism being the main employers.
