DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
The Ponca High School includes Nebraska Frameworks accredited 7-8 and AdvancED accredited 9-12 public schools located in northeast Nebraska. With an enrollment of 203 students, Ponca High School is large enough to offer outstanding educational opportunities, and small enough to personalize education for each student. Grades 7-12 students are located in the Ponca building. Competent and caring teachers provide students the opportunity to learn both content and appropriate behavior in a safe and structured environment. Curricular offerings include basic skills instruction for all students as well as specialized courses. Technology, career and character education are embedded in the curriculum. The majority of Ponca graduates continue their education at two or four year colleges. Extra-curricular activities begin in grade seven and include instrumental and vocal music, a wide variety of athletics, drama, speech, FBLA and student government.
