DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING


Washington Elementary School is located at 515 South Broad Street (the SE side of Fremont). Washington presently enrolls 210 students. Washington began the 'continuous calendar', a modified 45-15 year round program in July of 2010. Currently, there are three sections of kindergarten, and two sections of first through fourth grades. Sixteen certified teachers, a nurse and twelve classified staff serve students. Washington has a 31-station computer lab and a fine media center. The student population is quite diverse and a wide variety of educational services are offered including special education, remedial reading, Reading Recovery, and an ELL program for students with limited English abilities. A nutritious school breakfast and lunch program are also provided. Our after school program includes the Tom Osborn TeamMates Mentoring Program.
