DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Washington Elementary is located at 515 S Broad St. Washington teachers & staff strive to provide a caring learning environment where the focus on student growth in all areas and at all times and is lead by principal, Diane Stevens. Washington presently enrolls 260 students with average class size of 20 students per classroom. The student population is diverse; a wide variety of educational services are offered including special education, Reading Recovery, and an ELL program for students with limited English abilities. A dual language program is unique to Washington School where students learn all subjects in both English & Spanish. The program grows each year as we add a grade level section and will be fully implemented K-4 during the 2019-2020 school year. A strength of Washington School is parent participation in our Title 1 & PTA events. At these events, our parents learn ways to support their children’s learning at home.
