DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING


Harry A. Burke High School, home of the Bulldogs, opened in 1967 and is located nearly four miles from the geographic center of Omaha at 12200 Burke Boulevard. Burke High School serves over 2,000 students of diverse backgrounds in grades 9-12 and is ranked among the top 20 public schools in the State of Nebraska for college preparedness, according to the 2014 U.S. News and World Report. Burke High School is dedicated to providing students with an exemplary education through the collaborative efforts of students, parents, staff, and community. Burke students receive a comprehensive high school experience including college preparatory classes, Advanced Placement courses, honors courses, and career electives with a specialization in Air and Space. Burke student achievement has been consistent throughout the years with several National Merit Scholars, over 40 state athletic championships, excellence in co-curricular activities, clubs, drama, fine arts, music, and JROTC.
