DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Harry A. Burke High School, home of the Bulldogs, opened in 1967 at 12200 Burke Boulevard in Omaha and serves close to 2,000 students of diverse backgrounds in grades 9-12. Students enjoy a comprehensive high school experience including 30+ Advanced Placement courses, many honors courses, and career electives. The FOCUS Academy provides a 4-year leadership, communication, and technology cohort and the Air and Space Academy prepares students for aviation careers, including a private pilot’s license. Student achievements include National Merit Scholars, over 40 state athletic championships, excellence in co-curricular activities, clubs, drama, fine arts, music, JROTC and various academic competitions and performances. The collaborative efforts of Burke students, parents, staff, and community foster a sense of belonging and promote students’ development as scholars, good citizens and leaders.
