DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Morton Magnet Middle School, located at 4606 Terrace Drive in northwest Omaha, opened its doors in 1965. This middle school became a magnet in 2007 and serves students in fifth through eighth grades as a "Center for Community Research and Design." Morton’s magnet programs provide students the opportunity to engage in the process of identifying and solving relevant community issues using a six-step decision process. These challenges give students the opportunity to apply acquired academic skills and knowledge to real life situations, fostering a sense of civic responsibility, in conjunction with building skills needed to become college-ready citizens. There are a limited number of magnet seats available for students at each grade level. Students from any Omaha Public School or the learning community may apply to attend.
