DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Florence Elementary is located at 7902 No. 36th St. For the 2017-18 school year, Florence will be residing at the Mills Building, located at 4301 No. 30th St. while the school is being renovated. Florence was fortunate enough to be included in the OPS Bond Issue. The school will include a new Boys and Girls Club wing. Student enrollment includes kindergarten through fifth grade. Before annexation to Omaha, the community of Florence was once an independent village. Years later, the community still continues to maintain close ties to this neighborhood school. Florence students assist with community projects, and learn to give back to their community. The involvement of parents and business partners contributes to the academic success of students. Florence boasts itself as hardworking as well as trying to be the best that it can be. Our mission at Florence Elementary is to empower and provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in our changing world.
