DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Mount View School was first opened in 1888. It became part of the Omaha Public Schools in July 1960. Currently, Mount View Elementary hosts students in Early Childhood Special Education preschool, Alternate Curriculum Program, Headstart, and grades kindergarten through fifth grade. Parents and community members are actively involved and provide support and expertise through programs such as Family Nights, Parent-Teacher Conferences, Career Day, Partnership 4 Kids, and Boys and Girls Club. It is the mission of Mount View Elementary School, with the support of families and community members, to inspire academic excellence in a safe and disciplined environment.
