DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Oak Valley Elementary School is located at 3109 Pedersen Drive. Oak Valley serves not only its neighborhood children, but also provides educational programs for a number of special needs students. These programs include multi-handicapped and early childhood special education. The vision statement for Oak Valley School calls for blending “the similarities and differences of all students, creating an environment that utilizes the strengths of individuals to achieve their highest potential”. Programs for gifted and talented, special education, guidance and counseling, and English as a Second Language (ESL) support the academic needs of students. Students also receive training in technology and have access to a recently updated computer lab. A “Garden of the Senses”, created in the school courtyard, has a handicapped accessible path that circles around a fountain and various botanical displays. Along with parent and community support, Oak Valley School is a “Great Place to Learn”.
