DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Pinewood Elementary School is located at 6717 North 63rd Street. Our mission is working together as a team of staff, students, parents, and community to teach students to become high achievers, lifelong learners, and responsible citizens. Pinewood is home to students in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. Pinewood is part of the Superintendent's Early Childhood Plan, so staff begin working with families and students at birth and through the elementary grades, focusing on child development, community connections, and smooth transitions to foster high achievement. As part of this program, Pinewood has a Home Visitor and Family Facilitator. Pinewood also has a part-time ESL teacher, special education teacher and dedicated support staff. Pinewood Elementary has an active Adopt-A-School program that includes Chik-Fil-A, Clarkson College, and Farmers National Company. An active parent teacher association supports Pinewood students and staff.
