Sherman Elementary, at 5618 North 14 Ave. opened in 1927. In 2004, a $3.5 million renovation was completed. Sherman is proud to be a school where children from diverse cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds come together and find success in learning as staff strives to meet the social and educational needs of every child, every day. Sherman boasts small class sizes of approximately 17 students in primary grades and 22 students in the intermediate grades. Currently, Sherman is home to over 200 students in pre-kindergarten through the fifth grade. Our vision is to have high performing teachers and students in every classroom, and to be the cornerstone of the Sherman neighborhood where everyone will learn, grow and succeed. We provide engaging, rigorous instruction aligned with state standards and high expectations.
