DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Spring Lake Magnet School is located at 4215 South 20th Street, opened in January 1975. Currently Spring Lake houses approximately 850 students in Early Childhood through fourth grade. The school serves a large Latino community in the Southeast area of the city. Spring Lake is a Magnet School that focuses in Technology and Mathematics. Students explore the world of mathematics through a challenging hands-on curriculum and unique Math Lab. A variety of technology includes Smartboard technology, multimedia programs in all classrooms, Distance Learning, along with an iMac computer lab. Spring Lake also serves Dual Language students in K-4th grade, where students become bilingual, and bicultural in both English and Spanish. Additional activities available are Family Nights, after-school tutoring, a CLC Program and Kid’s Club along with a VEX team and Family Leadership Institute.
