DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Washington Elementary School is located at 5519 Mayberry Street and serves approximately 300 students from pre-kindergarten through grade six. Besides the regular classrooms, Washington also has a Head Start Class, and four special education classrooms: three Deaf and Hearing Impaired Rooms and a Resource Room. The staff, students and community believe in high academic standards for all students recognizing the uniqueness of each individual and his/her needs. Washington Elementary is driven by a vision in which all students are active and successful learners. The high standards, along with a committed staff, inspire all students to soar to their highest potential and to be prepared for academic success and technological development for life in a global community. The teamwork within the school and throughout the community nurtures a positive environment where new ideas are welcomed and all efforts are encouraged.
