DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Western Hills University Partnership Magnet Center is under construction for the 2016-17 school year and is relocated at 5616 L. Street. We currently serve approximately 400 students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Our goal is to develop self-disciplined, well-educated students who possess a love of lifelong learning. A university focus leads staff to provide research-based, innovative practices in instruction. Partnerships with the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Fontenelle Forest provide students with a variety of rich experiences utilizing interdisciplinary and expeditionary learning. An expanded curriculum and AVID strategies in our focus areas-Academic Enrichment, Expeditions, and Electives –provide opportunities for students to use their critical thinking skills and creative talents, while receiving a solid foundation in reading, mathematics, science and language arts skills.
