DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Buena Vista High School, home of the Bison, opened in 2022 at 5616 L St. in Omaha to serve close to 750 students of diverse backgrounds in grades 9-10. In 2023-24, grades 9-11 will enjoy a comprehensive high school experience including Advanced Placement®, Cambridge®, and dual enrollment courses through community colleges and universities. BVHS prepares students to be college and career ready. The Pathway model offers focused areas of study in high wage, high skill, and high demand careers. The Freshman Academy offers a personalized learning community to promote a family-like cohort. All students choose among our 11 Pathways: Behavioral Health, Human Performance, Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Nanotechnology, Automation/Robotics, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Mechatronics, Software Design/Application Development, and Health/Teaching as a Profession. Together, BVHS staff, students, parents, and the community take pride in developing great learners and leaders.
