DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
The Elkhorn Early Education Center primarily serves young children with disabilities, children who qualify for the Title I program, and children who have reached age three who demonstrate a need due to limited English proficiency. The active preschool learning environment provides opportunities for children to develop their cognitive, social, language, emotional, motor and self-help skills. Program staff use a developmentally appropriate approach to learning which encourages children to learn at their own ability level. The preschool day is a balance between teacher-directed lessons and child-initiated time where children choose activities and explore a wide range of materials. The Elkhorn Early Education Center goal is to foster each child's overall development in a positive learning environment.
