DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Norman Rockwell Elementary school guarantees each child achieves personal excellence and develops character traits to become responsible citizens by creating a world-class elementary school through diverse and engaging educational experiences provided by a caring team of family, students, staff, and community in a positive and safe environment. In support of this mission, staff and parents work together to develop student & family engagement & volunteer opportunities through clubs and programs including, Families as Partners, W.A.T.C.H. Dogs, Team Mates, Reading Mentoring sponsored by the SW Kiwanis Club, Fuel Up to Play 60, Rock Time lessons and assemblies, school-wide Rockin' Readers incentive program & College and Career Readiness and Study Center. There are a variety of other high interest clubs offered before or after school including Spanish, FIT, Choir, Student Council, K-Kids (Kiwanis) and Yearbook. We also implement a school-wide Behavior Intervention Support Team (BIST).
