DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Construction on Mockingbird Elementary School began in April, 1964 and the school opened in September, 1965 with 192 students. It was the third new elementary school in the Ralston School District. Teachers and staff at Mockingbird are dedicated to providing students with an outstanding education. There are currently 20 general education classroom teachers (including one preschool teacher), three special education teachers, 2.5 full-time English-Language Learner teachers, 1.5 reading support teachers, and teaching assistants who serve the students. The physical education teacher, music teachers, academic resource teacher, art teacher, counselor, school psychologist, and library media specialist provide expanded educational opportunities to students.
