DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Heritage Elementary School opened in 2012 and provides a K-5 program for 433 students. Most grades have four sections with fifth grade having three sections. The primary grades offer a strong developmental approach to learning in a self-contained classroom. The intermediate grades are self-contained, yet they introduce the departmentalized concept through science and social studies. All students receive instruction in PE, Spanish, music, art, library, technology, and guidance. The staff includes a reading specialist, speech pathologist, and resource teachers. A before-school and after-school day-care program was opened with the new building. Many extra-curricular opportunities in academics and athletics are available.
