DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Anchor Pointe Elementary School opened in 2019 and provides a PK-6 program for 455 students. Most grades have three sections with second grade having four sections and fifth grade having two sections. The primary grades offer a strong developmental approach to learning in a self-contained classroom. The intermediate grades are self-contained, yet they introduce the departmentalized concept through science and social studies. All students receive instruction in PE, Spanish, music, art, library, technology, and guidance. Instrumental music instruction is available for students in grades 5. The staff includes a reading specialist, speech pathologist, and resource teachers. A special needs preschool program is included in the instructional program. A before-school and after-school day-care program was opened with the new building. Many extra-curricular opportunities in academics and athletics are available.
