DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Once a boom neighborhood for post -World War II married GI’s, the affordable housing surrounding Hillside Elementary School continues to draw young families to the Westside district. One of the largest of the district’s ten elementary schools, Hillside was given the prestigious Fidelity Award by the International Alliance of Invitational Education in 2010. Approximately 50% of Hillside's students live outside of the district and choose to attend through open/option enrollment. A results-oriented school staff helps maximize the potential of approximately 400 students.
