DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
C. Ray Gates Elementary School is located at 2700 West Louise Street. The original building was a primary school for grades K-4 and consisted of five classrooms, an office suite, and multipurpose room. The building was officially dedicated on November 8, 1955. The first addition was completed in 1958 and consisted of two classrooms. In 1964, two more classrooms were added and another four rooms were completed in fall of 1966. The last remodeling phase consisted of additional classrooms for special education, standard classrooms, an office suite, gymnasium, media center, and music room. It was completed in 1982.
