DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING


Gates Elementary School includes nineteen classrooms, three sections of each in K-5 with the exception of second grade which has four sections. The building employs approximately twenty-nine certified staff members to teach and serve nearly four hundred students. Gates serves a diverse student population. The demographics are constantly changing. Currently, 60% of students are eligible for free and reduced priced meals and our student population is comprised of several racial and ethnic groups including 28% Hispanic. The student population also is made up of 13% of students who receive special education services, 10% Limited English Proficiency, and 5% homeless.
