Jefferson Elementary School enrolls 280 students in grades K through 5. Eight-one percent of Jefferson students qualify for free or reduced-price meals. The diverse student body is served by 22 certified teachers. Jefferson Elementary School was selected by Learning Sciences International to become a Demonstration School for Rigor (DSR). As a DSR, Jefferson has created a vision of instruction focused on student ownership and academic rigor. At GIPS we empower educators to be instructional leaders, personalize learning pathways for each student, design decisions using data, and partner with our community. Our students are prepared to make positive contributions to society and thrive in an ever-changing world.
