DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Lincoln Elementary School enrolls 370 students in preschool through grade 5. Ninety-one percent of Lincoln students qualify for free or reduced-price meals. The diverse student body is served by 26 certified staff. As the first CommUNITY School in Grand Island Public Schools, Lincoln hosts a variety of programs and resources for students and parents including English language classes for mothers and evening events for the neighborhood. Lincoln is supported in this effort through partnerships with the Heartland United Way and the National Center for Families Learning. At GIPS we empower educators to be instructional leaders, personalize learning pathways for each student, design decisions using data, and partner with our community. Our students are prepared to make positive contributions to society and thrive in an ever-changing world.
