Northwest High School is a Class B school serving students in and around the city of Grand Island with approximately 720 students in grades 9-12. Students come to Northwest from the four district elementary schools as well as the city of Grand Island and surrounding area with about 75% of the enrollment composed of option enrollment students.Northwest students are served by 4 administrators,53 certified staff members and 3 classified staff members. Northwest offers a full range of academic and career-technical courses. Two foreign languages are offered along with Advanced Placement classes, engineering, health science and computer networking classes. Students may also enroll and receive dual credit for classes at Central Community College or through the UNL Advanced Scholars Program. An ACT test prep class is offered to students and our students consistently score above the state and national average. About 70% of the student body participates in the strong extra-curricular programs.
