Northwest High School is located in the northwest part of Grand Island, Nebraska. Northwest High School was established as a Class VI High School in 1963. The development of Northwest High School has evolved over the years as the northwestern quadrant of the city of Grand Island grew from farmland into developed neighborhoods. In 2006 Northwest High School became a part of Northwest Public Schools per LB126. Northwest High School serves approximately 700 students in grades 9-12. Approximately 80% of our student population is option enrollment, with the other 20% representing district resident students. Nearly 75% of all students are involved in one or more activities or athletics. This student population is served by 55 certified staff, a para-educator, and four administrators. Northwest Public Schools is committed to creating a culture of excellence by focusing on growth for all students academically, socially, and behaviorally.
