DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Chapman School is part of the Northwest School District. The school is located east of Grand Island 8 miles along Highway 30. The staff consists of a full time principal, 8 full time and one half time certified teachers, one full time secretary, four full time para professionals, one half time para professional/half time Librarian, a full time custodian, a .3 custodian, a .6 cook, and a .3 assistant cook. We serve around 100 students K-8 in a highly moibile community with a high rate of poverty. Chapman has a 17% ELL population and boasts an after school program for tutoring students. Chapman is a school-wide Title I building. Bussing is provided for our students. We offer an ELL program twice per day for our students, as well as an intervention period for all of our students. We are a one-to-one school where we provide IPADs for our K-2 students and Chrome Books for all of our 3-5 students. We are progressive, though, we have our challenges with our high mobility rate.
