DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Aurora Middle School provides educational opportunities for students in grades six, seven and eight. Annually we anticipate an approximate 95-100 students per grade level. Aurora Middle School employs approximately 20 full-time instructors with an additional 10-12 shared instructors from the high school and elementary who provide instruction of our exploratory, elective, and essentials classes. Teachers meet once a week in Interdisciplinary Teams. All teachers are also members on a School Improvement Team. Providing students and staff with technology skills to enhance teaching and learning is a high priority in the middle school. Several programs are available to students including FPS (Future Problem Solvers), Math Counts, Quiz Bowl, Spelling Bee, Band Competitions, Community Problem Solving (CmPS) and CABS (Creating a Better School) groups. Several student supports are in place to assist students when academic or behavior interventions are needed.
