DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING


Hayes Center Public Schools is unique in the fact that it is the only school in the county. The nearest neighboring school districts are about 30 miles from Hayes Center. Hayes Center School District consists of three school buildings: an Elementary building which houses the cafeteria for the system, a Junior High and High School building and an addition which contains a gymnasium, weight room, computer lab and 7 classrooms. The Junior High (grades 7-8) has approximately 15 students, and the High School (grades 9-12) has approximately 35 students. The system also sponsors a preschool. Staff for the school system consists of 16 certified, 22 non-certified, and 2 administrators. The system is supported by distance and online learning educators and ESU 15 provides services for a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, and Speech Therapist. The district offers a Tuition Reimbursement program for all Juniors and Seniors as approved by the Board of Education.
