DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Hitchcock County Elementary School is located in Culbertson, NE and contains the grades PK-6. We are a Class D school located 11 miles West of McCook in rural Southwest Nebraska. A school bond was passed in November of 2012 and the building was completed in January 2013. The new school is climate controlled and ADA accessible. The elementary offers specialty classes of music, physical education, art, Spanish, and computers. We are a school-wide Title One school. We are accredited and involved in a continuous school improvement process. In the Fall of 2018 The U.S. Department of Education awarded Hitchock County Elementary the Blue Ribbon Award for Acacedic Excellence.
