DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

The Mullen School District is a Class III K-12 District encompassing an area of 1,383.8 sq. miles, including all of Hooker Co., 520 sq. miles of Cherry Co. and 72 sq. miles of Thomas Co. The school district was established by the community for the purpose of developing efficient, responsible citizens. To meet these needs, Mullen Public Schools have adopted the Nebraska Standards and Assessment system. The secondary staff includes 15 teachers with those in particular content areas also receiving extensive training. Staff members have participated in training sessions for Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies provided by ESU #16 leadership. Mullen experiences little student mobility and low staff turnover thus creating a very personal and positive learning environment. The school also participates in the NWEA MAP tests and the ACT tests.
