DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Meridian Public School is a consolidated 7-12 school consisting of approximately 85 students and is located two miles west of Daykin, Nebraska. Our school district is made up of four communities that are located in three different counties: Alexandria, Daykin, Tobias, and Western. Our school has 28 certified staff members. The Meridian school district developed an assessment process that includes a battery of on-going classroom assessments, periodic criterion referenced assessments, and norm-referenced assessments. Because assessment has become a strong focus for our district, we are using the Six Quality Criteria and other assessment materials to write and administer these instruments. Teachers are actively involved in administering the assessments, compiling and analyzing the results, and reporting those results to the staff, district, and state. The school is no longer using Terra Nova Achievement tests as our norm-reference. We now use the MAP testing provided by NWEA.
