DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Sterling is a PreK-12th grade rural school of 223 students. All grade levels are in one facility with the elementary students in their own wing. Sixth-grade students do have a middle school schedule with several teachers to prepare them for the 7th-grade experience. We have a long history of success in academics. Our school system currently employs 23 full-time staff members and 5 paraprofessionals. We have one classroom per grade level in the elementary. We also have two full-day preschool classrooms and enroll children that are three and four years old in these programs. Our small size enables students to receive enhanced individual instruction. All elementary students have an iPad to use each day. Our continuous improvement goals at the K-6th grade levels are: All students K-6th will improve their writing skills. All students K-6th will improve their reading comprehension. All Preschool students will improve their gross motor skills.
