DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Holmes Elementary is a wonderful neighborhood school that serves 386 students PK-5. Holmes was built in 1937 and is located where the original Holmes family farmhouse and barn were once located. Specialists serve Holmes students in music, art, physical education, and library/computer science. Special programs that are offered include, Early Childhood, Reading Recovery, Math and Literacy intervention support, and CLC/Family Service before/after school programming. Holmes school works diligently to be viewed as a “community school” with a commitment to the best educational opportunities for every student and family member. The following mission statement, in partnership with staff, parents, and community members, is revisited yearly, and acts as our guiding belief. “The Holmes School community is committed to individual academic achievement and character development in a safe environment.
