DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Huntington Elementary School, located in the historic University Place neighborhood of Lincoln, Nebraska, is a school with a fascinating past and a bright future. The original Huntington school was built in 1912 with an addition added in 1915. In 1997, the entire structure was demolished and a new building constructed on the original site. Huntington serves approximately 480 students in pre-kindergarten through 5th grade. Special programs include: Preschool, Early Childhood Special Education, Reading Recovery, Response to Intervention support, Special Education, ELL, Gifted, and Counseling services. We have a vibrant Community Learning Center (CLC) that serves over 100 children each week in our before and after school programs. We strive to bring out the best in our scholars, athletes, musicians, and artists. This is a commitment we all embrace as we empower students to work hard toward meeting their goals. We believe passionately in our motto: “Hard Work Pays Off Every Time!”
