DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING


Norwood Park Elementary, established in 1921, is a school-wide Title 1 building serving 250 students in PK-5th Grade. Our school is located near Havelock in Northeast Lincoln. We provide a rigorous curriculum that promotes academic achievement for all students in a safe and nurturing learning environment. Norwood Park staff, students and families share in the responsibility for academic achievement, positive character development and support of individual and cultural differences. We offer a variety of special programs to meet the diverse needs of our student and family population including: preschool classes, academic intervention support, gifted education, after school tutoring and summer school. Strong partnerships with families and the community provides support for students. Our Community Learning Center, in partnership with Northeast Family Center, provides academic and enrichment programming for our students and their families beyond the school day.
