DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Sheridan Elementary is located at 3100 Plymouth Avenue in Lincoln, Nebraska, in the heart of the neighborhood. The school opened in 1926 and was named for its proximity to Sheridan Boulevard. Staff, parents and community members work together to provide the best educational opportunities for Sheridan students. The culture of Sheridan parallels the culture of the client population, making parent partnerships easy to develop and maintain. Parents are considered valuable assets in the joint education of students. Parents visit and volunteer in the school. Frequent newsletters and conferences keep communication open between the school and parents and assist in empowering parents with the educational process of their children. An active parent teacher organization helps support students and teachers with their time, interest, creative ideas and financial support for educational enhancement.
