DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Zeman Elementary School opened in 1974 and is currently serving 425 students in grades K-5. In the spring of the 2011 school year extensive renovation was completed on our building. The renovation resulted in enclosed classrooms and much more natural light in the building because of the addition of more windows and skylights. Our mission is that all students will achieve academic, social, and emotional growth in a safe and positive setting. Staff, students and families work together to create an environment in which children are challenged, engaged, and affirmed. Each quarter grade levels set academic goals that are celebrated with a quarterly celebration. Staff educates students regarding the relationship between effort and achievement as a means of building self-efficacy. Before, during and after school activities are designed to engage students in a variety of activities that provide opportunities to extend learning beyond the core curriculum.
