Cavett Elementary opened in 1995 with 393 students, grades K-6. In 2018-19, Cavett's PreK-5th grade population totaled 680 students. The average 2018-19 K-5th grade class size was 22-23. A preschool served 20 students. Teachers work in professional learning community/data teams. Differentiated education in Reading and Math is offered for students who are Gifted or excelling, as well as, intervention in reading and math for students who need support are provided in regular classrooms. Special Education, Reading Recovery, and supplementary Literacy and Math instruction are provided as Tier 2 intervention supports. Specialist teachers provide Science, Music, Art, Computer Science, Media and Physical Education experiences for all students. Cavett offers multi-tiered level of supports for all students. Cavett Elementary has strong parent involvement and an active, supportive PTO. Enriching after school clubs are offered quarterly for K-5 students.
