DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

JoAnn Maxey Elementary School opened in July 1995. Presently 670 students are enrolled in classrooms that include early childhood, kindergarten and grades 1-5. Maxey is proud of its student achievement. Our mission is to maximize learning for all of our students. Our staff and parents work very hard to accomplish this mission. Our school averages 20 parents who volunteer their services daily to make learning more meaningful for our students. Our school has students who come to school ready to learn, parents who instill a value to the importance of education to their children, a staff committed to maximize the learning for all students, and a leadership team that helps “pave the way” for teachers to teach and students to learn. Students at Maxey strive to be safe, responsible and respectful as they learn and grow, and have also learned the importance of having GRIT!
