DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Lincoln Southwest High School opened in the fall of 2002. Southwest currently serves approximately 1800 students, grades 9-12 and is the only Lincoln High School to operate on a 4x4 block schedule. Located on 74 acres adjacent to Wilderness Park, Southwest High School offers students a unique opportunity to experience an outdoor classroom and interact with their environment. Southwest offers over 30 clubs and activities for students to connect with each other and the greater Lincoln community. Groups at Southwest, including Key Club, National Honor Society and Multicultural Caucus, have been involved in food drives, volunteer peer tutoring and other community service projects. Currently, Southwest has VIP partnerships with 35 local businesses and informal connections to many more through volunteer hours, fundraisers and community events. The incredible support of the Southwest parents, community and stakeholders help to ensure the continuing future success of all Southwest students.
