DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Adams Elementary School, located in southwest Lincoln, opened in August, 2008 with 461 students in grades PK – 5. Enrollment has grown to 803 students in 2015-16. The school is named after Lt. Colonel Paul Adams. Colonel Adams was a Tuskegee Airman in WWII, serving as a member of the famed 332nd Fighter Group that flew more than 15,000 missions. These men earned the respect of the white airmen they escorted, who called the black pilots "guardian angels." Adams later moved to Lincoln and taught industrial arts for over 20 years at Lincoln High School. The school is organized into grade level instructional teams. A talented staff strives to ensure students are challenged in their learning and enjoy success. The Adams P.T.O. provides strong leadership for families and extraordinary support for the staff. The school is fortunate to have over 100 parent volunteers assisting in the school each week.
