DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Kooser Elementary is named for Ted Kooser, the thirteenth Poet Laureate of the United States. Kooser Elementary opened August 19, 2009, and serves over 800 students in Northwest Lincoln. Kooser takes pride in providing rigorous instruction Pre-school through grade five and through educational programs such as ELL, Special Education, Differentiated Education, PE, Music, Art, Media, and Technology. The mission of Kooser Elementary is to empower ALL students to achieve academic excellence for success in a changing world. Kooser administration, teachers, staff, parents, and community are committed to working together in order provide a culture fostering relationships, teamwork, high expectations and current educational practices for students. The integral involvement of the Kooser PTO provides extraordinary support for families, students, and staff alike. Through a partnership with the YMCA, Kooser is able to offer quality on-site before and after-school childcare.
