DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Kooser Elementary School is named for Ted Kooser, the 13th Poet Laureate of the United States. Kooser Elementary opened August 19, 2009, and serves around 900 students in Northwest Lincoln. Kooser takes pride in providing engaging instruction for students in pre-school through grade five while providing programing for ELL, Special Education, Academic Intervention, and Gifted Education. Specials offered are Music, Art, Library, Technology, and Physical Education. The mission of Kooser Elementary is educating, embracing and empowering all students for lifelong learning. The Kooser community is committed to working together to provide a culture that fosters positive relationships, equitable practices, and high expectations for all. The Kooser PTO provides extraordinary support for families, students, and staff alike. Through a partnership with the YMCA, Kooser offers a quality on-site before and after-school childcare.
