DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Marilyn Moore Middle School is Lincoln Public School’s newest 6-8 middle school. The building opened in the Fall of 2017-18, and is connected to the Copple Family YMCA. The building is named after Dr. Marilyn Moore who was the former Associate Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for Lincoln Public Schools. The partnership between Lincoln Public Schools and the YMCA has created opportunities for the use of shared space, and the YMCA offers a teen after school program to support Moore students. The student enrollment for the 2018-19 school year was 506 students. The largest grade was seventh with 220 students. There were 80 eighth grade students and 206 sixth grade students. Moore Middle School seeks to ignite a passion in learners to create their own stories and build relationships which empower them to be courageous, empathetic, resilient and creative.
