DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Madison is a 6th grade only school in North Platte, NE. We utilize a Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) to improve student learning on a daily basis. We also employ the I.D.E.A.L. (identify, describe, evaluate, act and learn) action research model which further promotes continuous improvement. We incorporate norm-referenced tests, NeSA, MAP testing, and demographic data in order to make calculated decisions that guide the direction of our student learning. We adopt the tier 1 indicators of the district and make this a focal point of our efforts. We define tier 2 indicators specific to the needs of our building. Teachers will then create classroom goals as departments to further specify tier 1 and 2 indicators to their own classrooms. The Trego-Ed decision making process is utilized to promote informed decision making. Professional development is created based on the needs of our building. This work is based upon a common instructional framework as related to effective instruction.
