DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

McPherson County High School is a rural school located in Tryon, a ranching community in the Sandhills 30 miles from North Platte. There are only around 40 students in grades 8-12. Due to the small size, staff members are extremely aware of students' skills, needs, interests, and accomplishments. High school courses include all traditional academics and CTE courses with an emphasis on agriculture and welding. Assessments include MAP, ASVAB, ACT, and NSCAS. High school students also participate in all traditional extra-curricular activities such as football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, track, golf, cross country, speech, One Act, and NHS.
